Jungle drumroll, please. This ghost walks again.
(A design update.)
For your amusement, some new book covers, some posters, an obituary, a wee bit of good news, and some unscheduled Grouchoness, will follow. First, the cute:
and it's corresponding paternal:

This one was rejected for being too ethnic:
And then we have the not-so-cute (coming soon!):
Some posters (the fest is over, but the feeling remains):

A few pages of artwork from a project that died before it was born (story by Krishnamurthy Ramasubbu, the text of which has been obscured here for copyright reasons):

Good news, everyone! The guv'nor's scrumptious fantasy adventure, The Magic Store of Nu Cham Vu, has been shortlisted along with four other children's books, among the 16 total nominees, for this year's Crossword Book Award. I've been cited along with the nominated illustrators (in a discreet column next to the publisher info). Citing illustrators for a literary prize is unusual, and a first for the Crossword Award. It makes me feel a bit like Gary Busey at the Oscars. w00t! If the book wins, free drinks for all non-bots that comment on this post! ;)

really like the o'yeah cover. oh yeah, i do.
sad that the tam graphic novel died (and shee, you legal type you.. copyright reasons, it seems)
when you said good news, i assumed you were getting married. hehe. been hanging around that sort of crowd these days.
thanks :) the book's been due out for a while, god knows why it's taking so long. the only reason i've confidently put up the cover prematurely is because the author's already done the same thing on his blog.
the tam graphic novel had a great premise and a very cool story. I hope Subbu manages to complete it some day. as for legalities, i'm afraid i've officially reached that stage in my life: bound, embalmed and entombed by an unendingly unspooling mill of contracts. bugger and blast the law.
marriage. meh. that deathly contract is still a while away. what's this horrible oldie crowd you've been associating with, boy?
funnily, it's a crowd younger than you. ha. nevertheless.
ooh! very cool! where can i see more of the illustration? (The Magic Store of Nu Cham Vu)
:)

Just found your Twit account and your blog. Will check it out in detail later but good luck on getting the award.
By the way, I hope it's cool to randomly comment. Actually, the free drink offer made me do it.
Ps: I'm not a bot. I might have botched this though.
Cook: Dude, I'm sorry for this uberlate response. The award never happened, but it was good of you to comment. Free drink will happen one of these days, for sure. Thanks for dropping by!
